Blyth Bebside - the latest station to be completed on the Northumberland Line - has been officially opened. The first service rolled out of the new station shortly after 8.30am on Sunday, October 19th to the delight of local residents and train enthusiasts. From Blyth Bebside, customers will be able to travel to Newcastle in under 30 minutes, paying just £2.10 for an off-peak single ticket and £4.20 for a return. We're getting to the final stages of the World Cup of Stations and we're really hopeful that Ashington can take the crown. World Cup of Stations We've spoken to a World Cup winner in England cricketing legend Mark Wood and he'd love your vote for his home town - Ashington. We've also spoken to Ashington's County Councillor, Caroline Ball and she'd love you to vote for Ashington too.

The Northumberland Line team will be holding a public information drop-in session on Thursday 23 October 2025 from 6:00pm to 7:30pm at East Bedlington Community Centre, 16 Station Street, Bedlington, NE22 7JN. Members of the team delivering the project, including Northumberland County Council and stations contractor Morgan Sindall Infrastructure, will be available to speak to about the construction works. PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS IS A DROP IN EVENT AND NOT A PRESENTATION EVENT.
