Overnight Track Works at Northumberland Park

Network Rail will be undertaking track maintenance works in the Northumberland Park area using a machine called a Tamper, which is used to make sure the track is level. The works are essential for the continued development of the Northumberland Line rail project.

What to expect during the works

The tamping works will be undertaken along a section of track, as shown by the red line on the below map, from 11:30pm Monday 17 November 2025 to 5:30am Tuesday 18 November 2025 and 11:30pm Tuesday 18 November to 5:30am Wednesday 19 November 2025. Unfortunately, this type of work can be noisy, and we will limit noise wherever feasible, including by turning equipment off when not in use and using battery operated machinery. However, some disruption will be unavoidable.

These works will form part of moving work site so will not be by your property for the full duration of the works.

We understand that working near properties and working overnight is far from ideal and we are sorry in advance for any disruption these essential works may cause. Our teams have been briefed and will be mindful when carrying out this work, making sure all the relevant mitigations are in place to avoid excess noise.
