Following the changes made to Nexus Pop Fares from 1st April 2026, some of the rail only fares have also been revised on the Northumberland Line. The positive is that rail only fares for 3 or 4 zone journeys have been reduced. This means that the peak time single fares from Ashington, Bedlington, Blyth Bebside, Newsham and Seaton Delaval to Manors or Newcastle have been reduced to £2.40, with the off peak single fare reduced to £2.00. We're sharing that there will be some changes to the Pop fares that are available on the Northumberland Line and Tyne & Wear Metro from 1 st  April 2026. From Monday 24th November, there will be some off peak roadworks and pedestrian walkway closures on Rotary Road, close to the Northumberland Park station construction site. The works will take place between 9.30am and 3.30pm on weekdays only and are expected to be complete by 12th December. Network Rail will be undertaking track maintenance works in the Northumberland Park area using a machine called a Tamper, which is used to make sure the track is level. The works are essential for the continued development of the Northumberland Line rail project.
