Changes to Pop Adult Fares from 1st April 2026

We're sharing that there will be some changes to the Pop fares that are available on the Northumberland Line and Tyne & Wear Metro from 1st April 2026.
The changes to prices are shown below and the details are also now available on the Northumberland Line website - Tickets | Northumberland Line
The key change is that Pop Pay As You Go will be capped at £2.50 for a single journey and £5 for unlimited daily travel.
There will be increases to Pop Season Ticket prices and these are shown in the attachment.
Pop fares for Young People will remain unchanged and the rail only ticket prices will also not change.
Following feedback from customers, Nexus have also removed the 1 minute time limit for Pop users to tap out and then in when they interchange between rail and Metro at either Northumberland Park, Central Station or Manors.
