We're delighted to announce that Bedlington station on the Northumberland Line will open on Sunday 29th March 2026. We'll share details on the timetable a little nearer the time and ticket prices are shown on our website now, with tickets going on sale around 2 weeks before the station opens. Northumberland Park Opening Date Announced
The next station on the Northumberland Line to open will be Northumberland Park on Sunday 22nd February 2026. The first train to serve the station will be the 08:10 to Ashington (07:54 from Newcastle), with the first train to Newcastle & Metrocentre at 09:02 (08:38 from Ashington). Almost a million reasons why the Northumberland Line is a success
A year to the day since it opened, the Northumberland Line is proving more popular than ever. With a million passenger journeys set to be made by early January, the first 12-months of services is transforming travel, prospects and lives in both Northumberland and Tyneside. New Northumberland Line Timetable from Sunday 14th December
The timetable for trains on the Northumberland Line will change from Sunday 14th December 2025. The new timetable will see trains on Mondays to Saturdays generally run around 7 minutes later than they do now in each direction. On Sundays, the trains will generally run around 2 minutes later than they do currently. EV Charging at Northumberland Line Stations
Electric car charging is now available at Ashington, Blyth Bebside, Newsham and Seaton Delaval stations on the Northumberland Line. There are instructions on each of the chargers, along with a QR code to buy charging time. The chargers are 7.4KW and cost £0.57 per KWh and you can either choose to charge until your car is full or select by the KWh for your charge. Parking is free for EV cars on charge at Northumberland Line stations.

Then & Now - Bedlington
As we get closer to Bedlington station opening on Sunday 29th March 2026, we're taking a look back at the old station and sharing some images from the new look station. The original station opened on the 3rd August 1850 and only had a fairly limited service to Newcastle, with a timetable from 1863 showing a timetable of 4 trains per day in each direction and a journey time of around 90 minutes.
