Engineering Works in Bedlington

Engineering works are planned on the Northumberland Line during the morning of Sunday 9th August 2026. Works will be taking place on the track at Bedlington and buses will replace trains between Ashington and Newsham, with trains then running between Newsham and Newcastle on the usual Sunday timetable.

Buses will leave Ashington at 08:02, 09:02, 10:02 & 11:02 for Newsham and the first train will be at 12:38 towards Newcastle & Metrocentre.

Buses will leave Bedlington at 08:17, 09:17, 10:17 & 11:17 for Newsham and the first train will be at 12:43 towards Newcastle & Metrocentre.

Buses will leave Blyth Bebside at 08:24, 09:24, 10:24 & 11:24 for Newsham and the first train will be at 12:46 towards Newcastle & Metrocentre.

The level crossing at Station Road in Bedlington will be closed overnight on Saturday 8th August until mid morning on Sunday 9th August and details will be sent to local residents by Network Rail.
