Revised Northumberland Line Rail Fares
Following the changes made to Nexus Pop Fares from 1st April 2026, some of the rail only fares have also been revised on the Northumberland Line. The positive is that rail only fares for 3 or 4 zone journeys have been reduced. This means that the peak time single fares from Ashington, Bedlington, Blyth Bebside, Newsham and Seaton Delaval to Manors or Newcastle have been reduced to £2.40, with the off peak single fare reduced to £2.00. Station opening completes Northumberland Line...for now
Shortly before 8.30am on Sunday, March 29th 2026, the first passenger train in more than 60 years pulled into Bedlington. Ahead of the station at Northumberland Park opening on Sunday 22nd February, we can now share the Northumberland Line timetable that includes the calls at Northumberland Park. Almost a million reasons why the Northumberland Line is a success
A year to the day since it opened, the Northumberland Line is proving more popular than ever. With a million passenger journeys set to be made by early January, the first 12-months of services is transforming travel, prospects and lives in both Northumberland and Tyneside. EV Charging at Northumberland Line Stations
Electric car charging is now available at Ashington, Blyth Bebside, Newsham and Seaton Delaval stations on the Northumberland Line. There are instructions on each of the chargers, along with a QR code to buy charging time. The chargers are 7.4KW and cost £0.57 per KWh and you can either choose to charge until your car is full or select by the KWh for your charge. Parking is free for EV cars on charge at Northumberland Line stations.

A specialised virtual careers room for the County Council’s schools has been launched to support Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) pupils. Blyth Bebside is officially open !
Blyth Bebside - the latest station to be completed on the Northumberland Line - has been officially opened. The first service rolled out of the new station shortly after 8.30am on Sunday, October 19th to the delight of local residents and train enthusiasts. From Blyth Bebside, customers will be able to travel to Newcastle in under 30 minutes, paying just £2.10 for an off-peak single ticket and £4.20 for a return. Overnight Cable Works at Bedlington
Overnight works will be taking place on the platforms at Bedlington station from Monday 27th April for up to 2 weeks to allow for cable labeling works to take place at lighting columns. The works will happen between 11pm and 6am (between the last train departing and the first train running the following morning). The works are not expected to be noisy.
