Celebrating One Month Of Bedlington

Today marks one month since the station at Bedlington opened to the public.

To celebrate the occasion, we had a chat with local resident Christine Bell and recreated a photo of her that was taken with the then Station Master of Bedlington in the 1950's. The original photo was taken in the garden of the Station Master's house, which still stands on Barrington Road. Christine grew up in West View and the photo was a rare on as Mr Threlfall, the Station Master of the day, didn't like getting his photo taken.

Our modern take on the picture was created on the platform of Bedlington's new station and Paul Henry, Northumberland Line Programme Manager from Northern, stepped in as the modern day Station Master.
The Northumberland Line is making journeys easier for thousands of local residents and Christine is just one of those many people enjoying the journey opportunities that the Northumberland Line is bringing,
