A Day Out To Make A Difference

To celebrate them becoming Newsham Station adopters, Blyth Rotary are raising funds for Rotary International’s own charity “End Polio Now - Purple for Polio”.
On Friday 3rd July they intend to see how far they can travel with Northern in a day:
Cover over 400 miles
Pass through a total of 86 station stops
Go through 59 towns and hope to raise sponsorship
They will begin at Ashington at 0607 hrs and visit Middlesborough, Saltburn, Whitby, Bishop Auckland, Thornaby, then along the Tyne Valley departing Newcastle 1653 hrs to Carlisle departing 1834hrs to Newcastle, Morpeth and back to Ashington arriving back at 2300hrs.
Along the way they hope to link up with Rotary Clubs & members on the route.
