Have you taken The Journey yet ? As part of the development of the Northumberland Line, poet John Challis has written a poem to commemorate the lines rich history, which is shared with today's users of the line. The poem has a stanza for each of the line's six new stations and can also be seen at each of the Northumberland Line's new stations. We hope you enjoy it.

Now that all six stations are open on the Northumberland Line and track works have been completed, we won't be sharing any future "business as usual" works that Network Rail carry out along the line. Following the changes made to Nexus Pop Fares from 1st April 2026, some of the rail only fares have also been revised on the Northumberland Line. The positive is that rail only fares for 3 or 4 zone journeys have been reduced. From Monday 23rd March, Arriva will provide a new peak time bus link to serve the Northumberland Line station at Blyth Bebside. The new route 3 will run from Blyth Bus Station to Blyth Bebside station via Newsham Road, Isabella, Cowpen Shops, Briardale Road, Blyth Community College, Bebside Middle School and Bebside Interchange. We're delighted to announce that Bedlington station on the Northumberland Line will open on Sunday 29th March 2026. We'll share details on the timetable a little nearer the time and ticket prices are shown on our website now, with tickets going on sale around 2 weeks before the station opens.
