Bedlington Station Construction - Drop In Event on Thursday 23rd October 2025
The Northumberland Line team will be holding a public information drop-in session on Thursday 23 October 2025 from 6:00pm to 7:30pm at East Bedlington Community Centre, 16 Station Street, Bedlington, NE22 7JN. Members of the team delivering the project, including Northumberland County Council and stations contractor Morgan Sindall Infrastructure, will be available to speak to about the construction works. PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS IS A DROP IN EVENT AND NOT A PRESENTATION EVENT.

Revised Northumberland Line Rail Fares
Following the changes made to Nexus Pop Fares from 1st April 2026, some of the rail only fares have also been revised on the Northumberland Line. The positive is that rail only fares for 3 or 4 zone journeys have been reduced. This means that the peak time single fares from Ashington, Bedlington, Blyth Bebside, Newsham and Seaton Delaval to Manors or Newcastle have been reduced to £2.40, with the off peak single fare reduced to £2.00. Station opening completes Northumberland Line...for now
Shortly before 8.30am on Sunday, March 29th 2026, the first passenger train in more than 60 years pulled into Bedlington. It marked the completion of the Northumberland Line programme – which has revolutionised travel in the area and surpassed all expectations in terms of passenger numbers since it opened in December 2024. 'Who let the dogs on?': Northern will offer free travel to Bedlington Terrier owners when town's new station opens
Passengers with a famous breed of dog named after Bedlington will be offered free travel when the town's new station is open. It is the sixth and final new station on the Northumberland Line, which reopened to passengers in December 2024 – for the first time in 60 years. Around 1.3 million journeys have been made on the route so far, with passengers travelling for work, education, important appointments and fun days out.
