Overnight Highways Works around Bedlington Station

To allow us to install new street lighting columns, signage and kerbs at Bedlington

Station, there will be temporary lane closures, multiphase 3-way lights, and footway closure and diversions on Barrington Road, Ravensworth Street, Melrose Villas, Clayton Steet, St John’s Road and West of Station Road from Monday 2 February 2026 until Sunday 22 February 2026.

Please note that a vehicle and pedestrian diversion route signage will in place during this period which will be clearly signposted.

What to expect during the works

Throughout these works there is potential for noise and vibration, and delays to your journey. We will aim to keep disruption as minimal as practically possible and within the terms agreed with the local planning authority. We have continuous noise monitoring equipment installed onsite to capture in real-time the noise levels being generated as well as handheld noise monitoring equipment to record noise levels per shift.
