We're celebrating Better Transport Week this week and here's some great reasons on why we should be travelling by train. Did you know that only 1.4% of all transport emissions come from rail ?
For every £1 spent on the rail network, £2.50 is delivered in the wider economy. It keeps us connected, cuts congestion and transports freight across the country !
The Northumberland Line will bring some fantastic benefits when train services start in Summer 2024 and here's just a few of them:
6 brand new stations at Ashington, Bedlington, Blyth Bebside, Newsham, Seaton Delaval & Northumberland Park, which all link to Newcastle.
2 trains per hour on weekdays and Saturdays, with an hourly service on Sundays.
35 minutes is all it will take to travel from Ashington to Newcastle.
3 stations will have connections with the Tyne & Wear Metro - change at Northumberland Park, Manors (1 train per hour) or Central Station in Newcastle.
