Great Work in May

May has been another really busy month for the team and there's been lots of great projects delivered in the community, as well as the work on new track, stations and signalling to bring the line back into passenger service in Summer 2024. Here's some of the highlights:

  • STEM & Archaeology workshops in partnership with Wessex Archaeology to 8 Primary Schools, engaging over 400 local pupils,

  • Careers flash talks delivered to 145 year 6 pupils at Newminster Middle School,

  • STEM bridge building workshops to 2 schools at The Face of Engineering Festival at the Common Room, engaging with over 40 local school pupils,

  • STEM bridge building workshop delivered to Castle (SEN) Primary School for 11 young people with with severe or profound and multiple learning difficulties,

  • Delivered 2 day Mental Health First Aid course to 11 delegates from local voluntary organisations,

  • Held a residents meeting at Sleekburn House in Bedlington regarding their garden project,

  • Hosted the Northern Pride mascot at the Morgan Sindall site office in Newsham.
