As well as constructing six new stations, there's an awful lot of work going on in the local community during the construction of the Northumberland Line. Here's a summary of what's been happening recently;
A major milestone was hit, with the project having delivered rail safety presentations to over 12,500 students.
Morgan Sindall delivered 12,000 LEGO blocks to 12 libraries along the Northumberland Line. LEGO is an invaluable educational resource, and the blocks will ensure that local children can participate in a ’Marvelous Makers’ summer challenge. Following the delivery of the blocks Morgan Sindall will support the libraries further by delivering LEGO ‘masterclasses’, hoping to inspire the next generation of engineers.
Morgan Sindall also attended the Gallagher Park Live event, a free music festival organised by East Bedlington Parish Council.
AECOM and Morgan Sindall hosted work placement students from Grace College and Percy Hedley School after they contacted the project.
Morgan Sindall also hosted an industry insight session for Newcastle High School for Girls, sharing unique insights into the construction sector.
