Great Work in June & July

As well as constructing six new stations, there's an awful lot of work going on in the local community during the construction of the Northumberland Line. Here's a summary of what's been happening recently;

  • A major milestone was hit, with the project having delivered rail safety presentations to over 12,500 students.

  • Morgan Sindall delivered 12,000 LEGO blocks to 12 libraries along the Northumberland Line. LEGO is an invaluable educational resource, and the blocks will ensure that local children can participate in a ’Marvelous Makers’ summer challenge. Following the delivery of the blocks Morgan Sindall will support the libraries further by delivering LEGO ‘masterclasses’, hoping to inspire the next generation of engineers.

  • Morgan Sindall also attended the Gallagher Park Live event, a free music festival organised by East Bedlington Parish Council.

  • AECOM and Morgan Sindall hosted work placement students from Grace College and Percy Hedley School after they contacted the project.

  • Morgan Sindall also hosted an industry insight session for Newcastle High School for Girls, sharing unique insights into the construction sector.
