The Northumberland Line Fares will have two options as we'll have integrated fares with Metro via their Pop Cards and customers will also be able to buy rail only tickets for travel on the line and onto the national rail network.
Our integrated fares with Metro were agreed by the Joint Transport Committee on the 19th March and here's more information on what those fares will be.
Northumberland Line stations will join the Metro ticket zone map.
Zone A for Newcastle & Manors
Zone B for Northumberland Park
Zone C for Seaton Delaval, Newsham and Blyth Bebside* stations
Zone D for Blyth Bebside*, Bedlington & Ashington stations
* Blyth Bebside will be the zone boundary station for zones C & D, so if you're travelling towards Newcastle you'll need 3 zones & just 1 zone if you're travelling to Ashington
Adult prices with a Pop card will start at £1.80 for a single ticket in 1 zone & a 4 zone single will be £3.80
The daily capped price with a Pop card will start at £2.90 for unlimited daily travel in 1 zone & the 4 zone daily cap will be £6.20
Season Ticket prices bought with a Pop card will start at £13.20 for unlimited travel for 1 week in 1 zone with unlimited travel in all 4 zones at £30 per week.
Young People's fares will offer some great value for money with single fares with a Pop Blue card being only £1 for anyone 21 & under (under 5's are free).
A Weekly Season Ticket for those 18 and under will cost £9.50 or £36.90 for 4 weeks unlimited travel.
An annual Student Season Ticket will cost £497 for unlimited travel.
These are the integrated fares with Metro and we'll share the rail only fares once they've been confirmed. The good news, is that the Adult rail only fares will be cheaper than the integrated fares with Metro and peak and off-peak tickets will be available.
Railcard discounts will be available on all rail only fares and Metro Gold Cards won't be valid for use on Northumberland Line trains.
