Overnight Level Crossing Closures in Bedlington (North & South)

Bedlington North Level Crossing

We will be undertaking works to complete the upgrade of the Bedlington North level crossing on Barrington Road, ahead of the reopening of the line to passenger trains later this year. The works will be undertaken from 10:00pm Saturday 9 November to 7am Sunday 10 November. During the works, there may be some localised disruption due to noise, however we will limit this where possible, including by turning equipment off when not in use.

We need to close Bedlington North level crossing for vehicles during the works to allow for the works to be completed safely and a diversion will be clearly sign posted. Pedestrians will still be able to use the level crossing during the closure.

Bedlington North Foot Crossing

We will also be undertaking works at the Bedlington North Foot Crossing, between Barrington Road and Delaval Court from 6am Monday 25 November and 6am Wednesday 27 November. There will be no pedestrian access during the works.

Bedlington South Level Crossing

We will be undertaking works to complete the upgrade of the Bedlington South level crossing on Station Road, ahead of the reopening of the line to passenger trains later this year. The works will be undertaken from 11:30pm Saturday 16 November to 7am Sunday 17 November in the area shown below. During the works, there may be some localised disruption due to noise, however we will limit this where possible, including by turning equipment off when not in use.

We will need to have a full road closure over the crossing while the works are taking place. A diversionary route, which has been agreed with the council, will be in place for vehicles. Pedestrians will still be able to use the level crossing during the closure.

We understand that working near your property is far from ideal and we are sorry in advance for any disruption these essential works may cause. Our teams have been briefed and will be mindful when carrying out this work, making sure all the relevant mitigations are in place to avoid excess noise.

For any queries about this track work please call the Network Rail National Helpline on 03457 11 41 41, which is available 24/7.
