Station Construction Presentation for Bedlington on 22nd July

We are holding a public information event for local residents and businesses to find out more upcoming work in Bedlington. The event will be held on Monday 22 July 2024 between 6:00pm and 7:30pm at East Bedlington Community Centre, 16-17 Station Street, Bedlington NE22 7JN.

The event will start with a presentation at 6:15pm, followed by time for individual discussions with the project team, who will be on hand to discuss details of the works and answer any questions you may have about these or the Northumberland Line project more generally.

Removal of pedestrian island, Station Street

Overnight works to remove the pedestrian island on Station Street will take place between Thursday 18 July 2024 and Saturday 20 July 2024. In order to carry out this work safely, road closures and traffic management will be in place between the hours of 8pm and 6am. A diversion route will be in place via Palace Road, St Johns Road, A1147 to Milburn Terrace, Red Row, C406 Bridge Terrace to Red Row and vice versa (see Image 1 below).

What to expect during these works

During this work, there is potential for some impact on people living close by, however every effort will be taken to limit this where practically possible. Any noise arising from the works will be within limits agreed with Northumberland County Council and we will make every effort to keep noise, dust, and vibration as limited as possible, although some level of disturbance is to be expected.

To carry out these works safely, we will need to work during the day and overnight, through the week and on weekends.
