Our teams have been out and about capturing the progress of the track and signalling works that are taking place at Bedlington until lunchtime on Saturday 6th April.
The pictures above show the new points at Bedlington North Junction being put into place by crews from Network Rail.
Since the track was laid, there's been ballast added to help to stabilise the track and tamping machines have then been used to shake the ballast into place underneath the track and this keeps the track in place.
Work is also taking place to lay a new level crossing at Bedlington North following the replacement of the track for around 300 metres to the north of the Bedlington North Junction.
We'd like to thank the residents of Bedlington for their understanding whilst these works are taking place.
