Bedlington Road Works Update

We are pleased to share that the works on Ravensworth Street/Station Street, to complete essential drainage upgrades, are now complete and the road will reopen at 5pm on Friday 22nd August 2025.

However, these works have discovered underground utilities in the area, which were previously unknown, meaning that the next phase of works (the closure of part of Barrington Road) have been postponed. There will still be some works taking place around the junction of Barrington Road and Ravensworth Street starting from Tuesday 26th August until Friday 5th September and 3 way traffic lights will be in use.

We are still confirming the programme for the next phase of works, including updating our design based on the new information about underground utilities in the area.

We will provide a further written update setting out the details of the next phase of works once we have more information. We appreciate the patience of local residents and apologise for any inconvenience caused by the delay.
