Work to progresses the new Seaton Delaval station is ongoing. Up and coming works to complete the station which will take place over the next couple of months include:

·        Extending site into the neighbouring field behind Whytrigg Close and Wheatridge for drainage and footway works.

·        Diverting the current temporary Public Right of Way.

·        Compacting stone to form new access/ footways across the field.

·        Installation of drainage around the new access/ footways.

·        Continuing works to the car park.

What to expect during this period

During this period, there is potential for some impact for people living close by, however every effort will be taken to limit it where possible including noise and vibrations. Heavy compacting equipment will need to be used to complete the footways and car park up until the works are complete however, we will aim to keep noise and vibration to a minimum where practically possible. Noise monitors are in place which continuously report data. This is monitored by the contractor’s Safety, Health and Environmental team.

Notice of relocation of diverted Public Right of Way (PRoW)

In order to install drainage and put in the new permanent path for residents accessing the new station from east, the currently diverted PRoW will need to be diverted to the east of its current location. This diversion will be in place until the opening of the new footway. Works to extend the site boundary to enable this work to take place will start on Wednesday 24 July 2024 and is expected to be completed in September 2024. Works will take place during the day, through the week and on weekends, between the hours of 8:00 am – 6:00 pm.
