From Monday 6 October 2025 works will commence to install the permanent signal-controlled crossing for pedestrians and cyclists (known as a toucan crossing) on Chase Farm Drive. The works will also include surfacing and white lining activities on Chase Farm Drive/ASDA roundabout.
To carry out these works safely, traffic management will be in place in the from of
lane closures under 2-way temporary traffic lights between 9:30am – 2:30pm,
the location of which will move depending on which side of the toucan crossing
the contractor is working on. There will also be a pedestrian diversion in place
throughout these works visible via signage.
This work will be mainly carried out on Mondays – Fridays between the hours of
8:00am – 6:00pm with the potential for some weekend and occasional nightshift
working. Between Friday 24 October – Sunday 26 October 2025 there will be
two night shifts to complete the works. These shifts will be carried out from
6:00pm – 8:00am.
What to expect during these works
During this work, there may be an impact on people living and working close by,
however every effort will be taken to limit this where practically possible. Any
noise arising from the works will be within the legal levels under UK law and
every effort to keep noise, dust, and vibration, is limited as possible, however
some level of disturbance is to be expected.
