Sunday 4th August was another milestone day on the Northumberland Line project, with the installation of a new footbridge for pedestrians and cyclists at Blyth Bebside station.
The new bridge crosses the A189 Spine Road and will make access from the Horton Park, Chase Farm and Chase Meadows a lot easier than having to cross the Kitty Brewster roundabout sliproads.
The work was completed on schedule by Morgan Sindall and their contractors and whilst we did have to close the A189 to safely install the bridge, we hope the disruption wasn't too much for local residents.
The bridge will open when the station opens during 2025.
Watch the bridge installation happen in 90 seconds, although it took a little longer in real life !
