New Northumberland Line Timetable from Sunday 14th December

The timetable for trains on the Northumberland Line will change from Sunday 14th December 2025.

The new timetable will see trains on Mondays to Saturdays generally run around 7 minutes later than they do now in each direction. On Sundays, the trains will generally run around 2 minutes later than they do currently.

We'll also see a new later train from Newcastle to Ashington at 23.21 on Mondays to Saturdays which will improve night out opportunities along the line, with this being requested by many customers and stakeholders since the line opened, almost a year ago.

On Sundays, most trains will also serve Metrocentre as well as Newcastle, giving a new direct destination for Northumberland Line customers without needing to change trains.
